Although I haven't been able to explain the sighting to this day, nothing in what I saw (a luminous ovoid) led me in any way to believe that it was an alien artefact.Should we have stuck to UFOs (or, for that matter, UAPs) rather than "flying saucers" or "alien craft" and the like, then the subject may have attracted the resources of scientists and other similarly rationally-minded people rather than their derision and scorn.Although the subject has never been short of exotic interpretations, I've seen it degenerate from what may be termed a healthy - if often naive - search for an explanation into a quagmire of delusional fantasy and conspiracy theories where charlatans vie with each other to produce the most outlandish explanations without a shred of evidence to support a word of what they say.As an example, Stanton Friedman promotes himself as the "UFO Physicist", but his standards of "evidence" fall far short of what physics, or any other science, would accept. As a physicist, would he have accepted the discovery of a new sub-atomic particle based only on hearsay? Whoa whoa whoa. Back up. Chase Brandon. Dude, let's not jump on Brandon for reviewing Hollywood scripts, he doesn't set policy. That's not the issue. This is a guy who, last summer, announced to America that the CIA is sitting on proof that the U.S. Army was up to its eyeballs in UFO juju from 1947. Were you even paying attention?

"I absolutely know... that there was a craft from beyond this world that crashed at Roswell," Brandon told radio host George Noory, "that the military picked up remains of not just the wreckage but cadavers and all of that was made public for a short while... Excuse me, Mr. Gup. Do you not find this the least bit interesting? Maybe just a little bit? Critics charged Brandon made the allegations in order to promote his sci-fi novel; if they're right, isn't this a better and even more perverse example of commercial exploitation than critiquing scripts?

Oh. Wait. If you used UFOs to clobber Brandon, you'd actually have to make a few phone calls to some of the "well over 100 case officers" or the "five former directors" you cited in your article as sources over the years. Because naturally, you'd want to make sure you were on firm ground with the fraud thing. And that's right - the Times doesn't do UFOs. Sorry. Nevermind.

I'm really glad I'm not writing about this crap anymore.

Ufo Sighting In Niagara Falls New York On June 25Th 2007 On Vacation Bright

Recently, while I was reviewing photos of my family's trip to Niagara Falls several years ago, I noticed a UFO-like light. It says very close to the Skylon Tower on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls for a duration of 32 minutes and 22 seconds (at least, that's the time between our first photo of it and our last - it very well could have been there longer). It seems to vary in its distance from the tower, but never strays very far from its original spot. It's clearly visible even during the fireworks display as a different entity. Neither myself nor my parents recall seeing the anomaly in person, but it can't have just been caused by the camera due to the changes in both its and our position. It changes from pure white to a light yellow color. Sometimes appears to be just a small, round ball and other times like a check mark. In one image, it even seems to have a blue "aura" around it. Please note that the first 4 images are very large samples - the fifth image is a compilation of those, plus numerous others. The tower is included as a reference for distance. Also note that the timestamps are NOT accurate, but have been included on the compilation for duration measuring purposes (the duration should be correct, it is only the time that's not because my parents forgot to set it). Also note that before the images where the sky is dark, we were approaching the area.
