Why Chris Why The Paranormal

Someone I ran into at a party asked me that question recently.

Why Chris, why do you write about the paranormal? This person, who will remain nameless, followed that question up with this statement" You know you should not be involved with the dark forces; you need to break those spells".

It took a few minutes of laughter before I could compose myself concerning his ridiculous line of reasoning. I asked this acquaintance to come sit with me a few moments, so we could have a little talk.

I pressed this silly dim wit into telling me why he thought I was involved with dark forces or had 'spells' about me? "Well" he answered with a stale seriousness, " All your stories are about spells and dark forces, aren't they?" I could not cover my growing smirk as I tried with all I had not to continue laughing in this poor souls face.

I asked which stories I had written brought him to this conclusion. He thought for a bit and said in a concerned somewhat frightened manner, " The Ring and Other Objects, plus a bunch of others" I sighed and explained to him that The Ring story was about objects placed on me for tracking purposes. He stared. I said " like the way they tag wild animals. The objects had nothing to do with witches or any form of dark force." He sort of looked at me more confused then when we started, and simply uttered an "OH".

He wandered away towards the buffet table and looked oddly at me for the rest of the party. I could not contain myself and searched out another writer and friend of mine at this event. I reported the conversation I had with this man, to get her reaction. Between bites of shrimp and stuffed mushrooms she said through mouthfuls, "I think you better make that clear to your readers. You know if one thinks that silliness, there are others". With that said, the music started playing and the rest of the party melted away into a great summer's night.

Let me start by explaining to all my readers that my stories, so far, have been about UFO paranormal events. My blog site contains articles mainly about UFO's, Aliens, Crop Circles, and Chemtrails. Now and then I may throw in a Big Foot or some interesting historic event or find. The short stories I write are based on my personal life; Most are connected to UFO's and those who control them.

I suppose if you view the idea of other life forms something evil, you might think of them as a dark force. I do not. I think it is all clearly science and nature we do not yet comprehend.. I am sure over the next decade on this planet many things thought of as paranormal today, will simply be the new science of the time.

The reason I have such a deep interest in the paranormal, with my main interest in UFO understanding, is because of my life long personal experiences involving this issue.

My connection to this phenomenon began at age 4. My main memory of this event is the voice of my mother screaming my name while we were on a outing in a small forest on Long Island. New York. I recall being placed back down from what felt like a long tunnel of light along the side of a babbling brook. I recall looking up. I have no memory of what I was looking at. The only thing I clearly recall is the frantic voice of my mother's screams. I recall my mother grabbing me, lifting me and holding me tightly as she ran from this spot back to the road.

That was the start. My short stories tell the many events that followed as I lived and continue to live my life. For me, this is the way I can share the extraordinary events that have followed me through out my lifetime. The Red Orb! The Ring and Other Objects are all taken from my world, my life. I plan to write all the events in my time in my way. I find my experiences are somewhat different from the average reported encounters. I find it easier to tell who ever may want to listen, my story, in my way.

I hope this helps explain why I write about what I do. I hope others who have walked a path similar to my own find comfort in knowing they are not alone. I somehow hope what I write helps, protects or simply entertains those who read my words.

It is a sad fact, especially to die-hard "UFO believers" that UFO sighting news have never been ("and will never be") treated as a top headline story in most national and local nightly TV news.

And, if any, most of the time such news stories about UFO sightings come at the very end of the half-hour nightly national or local TV news.

Never have they been a top news story.

Why is it so?

Simply because the mainstream news media still consider and categorize the subject of "UFOs" as part of Pseudo Science.

The news stations seem to do its best to avoid any ridicule.

And so they have no choice but to treat such news with a "light-hearted" attitude.

Usually the news anchor makes a cynical, smart-alecky and (most of the time) comical remarks about the sighting or about the subject matter in general.

And then, usually all of the anchors end up together with a laughter.

It is a convenient way to end the nightly news on a "light" note, a break from "serious" and increasingly depressing subject matters such as economy, politics, wars, terrorism, crime, environmental destruction, ad infinitum.

The subject of "UFOs" occupies the very end of a long list of all available topics, and usually only as a "filler" if they can't find any other items to bring the half-hour news program to a close, on a rather "happy" or "light-hearted" tone.

We all hope that some day in the future, UFO news will become a top story in the nightly news program.

But, will that day ever come?

With the increase of UFO sightings and people talking about being abducted or having lost time events happen to them comes an increase in the questions of why all of this is happening?

The debate goes on day after day- what do beings from another place want with us? Why are they here? What do they do to those they abduct? The realization aliens seem to have been here, taking us at will seems to have gone on from the beginning of mankind.

When looking at all of these things you come up with certain facts that just cannot be avoided.

Aliens are here and have been for a very long time

Aliens keep to themselves

Aliens decide how much contact they do or do not want to have with us

Aliens seem to want us for something

Aliens do not want to openly interact with us

Aliens take what they want and do not ask

Aliens can remove our memory of our time with them

Aliens are in charge of our relationship with them

Aliens do not want a relationship with us other than what it is they use us for

As cold as this all seems to be I think it is the basic truth of our interactions with these technically superior beings. They seem to want what they want but socializing with us is not part of the agenda!

Many people focus the reason for our lack of knowledge concerning alien beings on the governments of the world. I never adhered fully to this theory. I do not think our governments can control or decide what the visiting alien beings do any more than you or I can. Remember we are being the ones visited by beings while we are barely able to explore our own solar system much less galaxy much less other solar systems in other galaxies.

The alien life forms visiting our planet are far advanced past the primitive civilizations living on this little blue ball. In intelligence and technology we are to those visiting us as monkey's and lab rats are to us! I do not think any government on this planet is able to compete, frighten or control those who visit us from other parts of the cosmos. At best all we can do is try to get along with and try to keep our relationship with others as non- evasive to mankind as possible. Beyond that I doubt the governments of this planet have too much say in our relationship with other worldly beings.

Lets face it we cannot join them, nor fight them, we cannot even figure out where they come from - unless they tell us. We are the little stupid humans being viewed and they are the giant eye behind the viewing glass. Our government powers may try to benefit or involve our world with these beings. It is obvious however who is running the human - alien show!

If you continue to have a difficult time with this theory keep reminding yourself who is visiting who?

With all that said the question that constantly nags at me is why? Why do these beings seem to be so drawn to this planet? And why are they constant and insistent on taking what they want of us when they see fit and returning the rest back where they found us when done? Why all the abductions? Surely by now over the thousands of years they have been viewing and examining us they know how we work, understand how we are made, what makes us tick. Why then do they keep taking us?

I have heard thousands of ideas and theories. Most have a human slant or human thinking attached to them. I listen to all the human suggestions and ideas and do think some have a chance of being true to the reality of all this visiting and abducting. I also think some of the reasons humans feel they are being taken by aliens are ridiculous and far too fanciful and fantasy movie like in thinking.

I think we need to focus on a far more basic and logical view concerning all of this.

What if we are just walking living thinking vessels of alien biological material? What if we are the big laboratory refrigerator of living test tube biological material that other alien life forms need to use and our planet and species a perfect storage unit? What if this planet and all the living creatures on it are a living shelf of biological material they can draw from when needed and left to reproduce on its own so they always have fresh new biological matter at hand?

If other life forms in this cosmos are older, more advanced and evolved then we humans most likely their physical form has changed too. It would seem logical to me that the more advanced life becomes the more it would lean towards becoming more energy forms of intelligence and light. They may have grown past the need for our heavier slower, messy human type forms.

Maybe some of the aliens visiting us have advanced to a physical form, which only needs small amounts of biological material to create and hold their present forms.

Perhaps humans are the perfect animal form to keep this material growing and reproducing so they do not have to. Maybe our heavy human form is far less able to travel the cosmos yet we contain the building blocks of life that they still need to continue on as a species. Maybe it became easier to simply let us continue on as the vessels that contain and constantly re-supply these materials for them.

What if our life form is the starter yeast of life and this planet the keeper of that precious starter dough?

What if this idea carries over to other alien forms that also have changed needing less of what we are made of and find it useful to shop at this planet for things like emotions, spirituality, love or reproduction?

Others still may feed on our warm-blooded mammals or seek the sea or mountains for certain aspects or qualities we have yet to understand or have long forgotten?

We may be used to try to form combined life forms from the cosmos or simply used as a rest stop to somewhere so incredible we are not able to understand or comprehend what or where it is they all travel to.

Whatever it may be from a pit stop on the cosmos highway to starter yeast of the universe I do know we, humans have not reached a place to be considered or invited along. We still remain those visited, those unwillingly taken and they the ones uninvited yet here visiting and sampling when ever, where ever and who ever they please.

I believe that once we join together on this planet as one growing working evolving planet, we will be able to start to consider our place in the universe. Until we can work together with out killing one another and stop our own self destruction, we will remain the animals of the cosmos used at will without the same consideration they seem to have for each other. Again we are visited and they do the visiting. While we continue to keep our focus in the dark ages of hate and destruction we will stay here and they will travel the cosmos. We are the Jurassic Park of the Cosmos.

One day far far away I am sure this too will change, but for now- do not blame your government. What are they going to tell you? There is nothing we can do about it, but aliens visit when they want, take what they want, and refuse to have any more to do with us. They could add on that there is nothing we can do about it but I think that would just rub salt into the universal wound of our realizing we are low man on the pole!

I guess all any of us can do is try to be careful out there, continue to learn all we can and with what is the best of us- try to stop hating and fighting so we have a chance of climbing up that universal ladder to join the rest of boys of the universal community!

ON THE NIGHT OF August 21, 1955, two Kentucky families claimed to have fought unknown beings. In a rural area of Kentucky, near Hopkinsville and Kelly, two families contend they battled extraterrestrial creatures.

The event happened around the Sutton farmhouse, where the Suttons and the Taylors gathered for dinner. At some point during the evening, Billy Ray Taylor went outside to draw water from the well.

Taylor witnessed a huge, bright object land in the woods about a quarter of a mile from the house. He started towards the house with the water when he saw a strange creature approaching. Billy Ray dropped the bucket and ran into the house. Both he and Lucky Sutton picked up firearms and ran back outside. Taylor fired his.22 caliber rifle and Lucky fired his shotgun but neither weapon had any effect on the creature.

Sutton and Taylor described the aliens as three feet tall, with pointed ears, thin limbs, long arms and claw-like hands. They said the creatures looked like gremlins, hence they became known as the Hopkinsville Goblins. The beings were either silvery in color or were wearing something metallic. The strangest aspect of these creature was their movements.

The aliens movements seemed to defy gravity as they floated above ground and walked with a swaying motion like they were walking through water.

The two men returned to the house. However, another creature appeared at the window... the two families realized they were up against something extraordinary. They ran from the house, got in their cars and headed to Hopkinsville. There they sought help from police who followed them to the farmhouse and searched the area.

Although they found no evidence of the creatures, they did find that the farmhouse had been shot up by the humans during the battle. The police left shortly after, but the aliens returned and the battle resumed. The defenders' guns continued to have no effect. The Air Force investigated the event but could not find solid evidence.

At first, the public reaction was that the incident was a hoax. However, the Suttons and the Taylors never profited from the encounter and there were dozens of eyewitnesses to the event. In addition to the families at the farmhouse, there were law enforcement officers who saw strange lights in the sky.

In 1957, Air Force Major John E. Albert concluded that the case resulted from the witnesses observing a monkey painted with silver that had escaped from a circus. French UFO researcher Renaud Leclet opined that a pair of Great Horned Owls may have been misidentified as aliens.

However, Dr. J. Allen Hynek believed the incident was real. UFO researcher Allan Hendry wrote "...this case is distinguished by its duration and also by the number of witnesses involved." Jerome Clark writes that "...investigations by police, Air Force officers from nearby Fort Campbell, and civilian ufologists found no evidence of a hoax".

Although they never formally investigated the case, Blue Book confessed to being stumped. So was Isabel Davis, one of the most skeptical of UFO investigators.

Many of famed film director Steven Spielberg's projects, like Night Skies, E.T. and Gremlins, were directly inspired by the Kelly-Hopkinsville events.

The Kelly-Hopkinsville Case: An Overview

August 21 - 22, 1955

The scene was a small farm outside of the Kentucky town of Kelly. Inside the farmhouse were eight adults and three children.

The night was dark, clear, and hot. At about 7 PM, Billy Ray Taylor (a friend of the Suttons and owner of the farmhouse) came in from the well with the "wild story's that he had seen a really bright "flying saucer," with an exhaust all the colors of the rainbow, fly across the sky and drop into a forty-foot gully near the edge of their property.

However, the Suttons did not take him seriously and laughed the story off as an embellishment of his seeing a "falling star."

Half an hour later the family dog began barking violently and eventually put its tail between its legs and hid under the house. The two men, Billy Ray Taylor and Lucky Sutton, went to the back door to see what was bothering the dog and noticed a strange glow approaching the farmhouse from the fields.

When the light came nearer, they resolved what caused it: a glowing three-and-a-half-foot tall creature with a round, oversized head.

The eyes were large and glowed with a yellowish light; the arms were long, extended nearly to the ground, and ended in large hands with talons. The entire creature seemed made of silver metal. As the creature approached, its hands were raised over its head as if it were being held up.

Understandably startled, the two men reacted by grabbing their guns: a 20-gauge shotgun and a.22 rifle. Withdrawing slightly into the house, the men waited until the creature was within twenty feet of the back door and then fired; the entity flipped over backward and then scurried off into the darkness.

After a few minutes, when it did not reappear, they returned to the living room only to see another (or the same) creature at a side window. They fired through the window screen at it, and again the creature flipped and disappeared. Sure that they had hit and disabled the creature, the two men went outside to find the body.

As they started out the front door Billy Ray, who was in the lead, paused for a moment underneath an overhanging roof. Just as he was about to step into the yard, those in the hallway behind him saw one of the creatures on the roof reach down a taloned hand and touch his hair from above.

The people indoors screamed and pulled him back inside. Lucky Sutton rushed out into the yard, turned and fired pointblank at the creature, knocking it off the roof. There was another creature in the maple tree close-by.

Both Lucky and Billy Ray fired at this one and knocked it off the limb; it floated to the ground and then ran off quickly into the darkness. Immediately, another entity (or perhaps the one that had been knocked off the roof) came around the side of the house almost directly in front of the group.

Lucky fired his shotgun at point-blank range and the result was the same: no effect. A sound was heard as the bullets struck, as if a metal bucket lead been hit, but the creature scurried off unhurt.

Understandably concerned that their guns were apparently useless, the men returned to the house to join the frightened women and children.

The creatures generally moved in a peculiar fashion. The legs appeared to be inflexible and when they ran, movement was accomplished almost totally by "hip motions." Usually totally erect, when they ran off they bent over and moved with long arms almost touching the ground.

The entities' ability to float was particularly evident when one was knocked off the kitchen roof and floated a distance of about forty feet to a fence, where it was knocked off again by a shot. While they did not appear to have an aura of luminescence, their "skin" glowed in the dark with the glow becoming brighter when they were shot at or shouted at.

Mrs. Lankford, the mother of the family, counseled an end to the hostilities. Despite the fact that they had been shot at a number of times, no aggressive action was ever proffered by the creatures.

However, the children were becoming hysterical and the creatures kept returning to peer in the windows at intervals; by 11 PM the family's patience had worn thin and they all got into two automobiles and headed at top speed to the nearby Hopkinsville police department

After a half hour's travel time, the police arrived back at the farmhouse with the still-frightened family. The Hopkinsville police, the state police, and a staff photographer arrived to investigate the situation. A thorough search was made of the house, the yard, and the outbuildings.

Nothing was found, and the tension ran high: When someone accidentally stepped on a cat's tail and it yowled, "you never saw so many pistols unholstered so fast in your life!" The searchers checked out the woods area but found nothing. One unusual item that was found was a luminous patch where one of the creatures had been knocked off and fallen to the ground. However, when nothing really extraordinary appeared, the searchers began to leave and by 2:15 AM., the Sutton family was alone.

The family had been reassured enough to go to bed and shut off the few lights. Mrs. Lankford was lying in bed watching the window when she noticed a weird glow; the glow was one of the creatures staring inward with its hands on the window screen.

Calling quietly to the rest of the family, she remained perfectly calm. Lucky Sutton, however, grabbed his gun and again shot at the creature through the screen. No effect. The creatures continued to make their appearance throughout the rest of the night, never doing anything overtly hostile and only seeming to show curiosity.

The last creature was seen at half an hour before sunrise, at about 5:15 AM

The next morning, investigators came back to search the farmlands during the daytime. Nothing was found even though some even climbed to the roof of the house to look for footprints. The press got hold of the story; besides the reporter who had accompanied the police out during the night, the local radio station and many reporters from other papers in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee arrived at the Sutton house.

As the news spread, the general public began to show up and cars were backed up for a considerable distance down the road from the Sutton farmhouse. Sightseers stopped their cars, walked through the property, in and out of the house, annoyed the family with requests for pictures and, in general, created a carnival atmosphere the upshot of which was to generally ridicule the family for having seen "little green men from space."

However, on that same morning, Andrew Ledwith, an engineer with the local radio station, decided to stop into the station for a talk with the chief engineer (it was Ledwith's day off). He learned of the happenings at the Sutton farm the night before and because of his interest in UFOs and his previous experience as an artist, he decided to go out and interview the family.

It is fortunate that he did.

The publicity became so obnoxious to the Sutton family that they later simply avoided telling the story and refused to cooperate (one notable exception was with Isabel Davis, who prepared the Kelly report for CUFOS). The drawings that Mr. Ledwith created on the afternoon following the sighting are illustrated above.

How can such a tale be accepted at face value, one asks? After all, the family itself was considered of "low social status" by the townspeople. Two of the men had worked for a carnival; it could be argued that they were familiar with the art of the trickster.

The most telling criticism of the incident, however, is that there is absolutely no physical evidence whatsoever that the incident actually occurred. Skeptics point out that no footprints were found (the ground was extremely hard), no marks were on the roof (although the creatures seemed nearly weightless and may not have left marks), there was no blood on then, the bullets did no apparent damage), et cetera.

One could thus conclude that the family "faked" the entire incident.

However, investigators who interviewed the Suttons afterward painted a picture of them that is quite different from the sort of people who could fabricate an elaborate hoax: They were uneducated, simple farm folk with no apparent interest in exploiting the rather considerable publicity that they engendered.

Did "creatures" really visit the farmhouse in Kentucky on that night of August 21, 1955? Or did the many witnesses, mostly adults, excite themselves to the point of exaggerating some lesser stimulus?
