Took our Lab out just before 11:00 PM EST, 09/13/13. Standing on the back porch, I noticed (2) glowing objects red-orange in color, moving NE to SW with one in front of the other. The front object which also seemed to be the most Southerly appeared to stop and allow the trailing object to catch up and pass over a period of not more than 15 - 20 seconds. Once the object passed, both proceeded in a SW direction. Within another minute while they were not yet quite overhead, they both suddenly disappeared. A few moments later, a third light with the same coloring of lesser intensity appeared for a few seconds moving in the same direction and then also disappeared. Our Lab who seldom barks other than howling when he hears a siren, howled during the incident and stopped when they disappeared. We are located nearly due East of Gerald R Ford Airport in Grand Rapids, MI. The objects appeared to be roughly 15 degrees North of the Airport.
